Florida Product Approval & NOA Product Approval in Tampa, Florida & Beyond

Florida Product Approval & NOA Product ApprovalWe know how tough it can be to find product approvals. From Florida product approvals to NOA product approvals, locating approval documents is often a difficult and confusing process. Whether you are here in the Tampa Bay area or on the other coast in Miami-Dade County, you may need both state and local product approvals before you can receive building permits.

One of the first product approval organizations you will come across is Florida Product Approval. The Florida Product Approval system was implemented in 2003. Products covered under the Florida Product Approval system include windows, exterior doors, skylights, roofing, and other structural components. Under the Florida Product Approval system, certain building products must be tested and approved in compliance with the Florida Building Commission before those products can be used in construction.

To look up a specific product for its Florida Product Approval documentation, go to www.floridabuilding.org and select the “Product Approval” link.

Another entity you may encounter when applying for permits is the Miami-Dade County Product Control Approval System. Products like windows, doors, shutters, etc. are approved by this agency through a Notice of Acceptance, or NOA. The NOA is required prior to a product’s use in construction.

To look up a specific product for its NOA, go to www.miamidade.gov/buildingcode and click on “Approved Product Search.”

For your convenience, The Molding Depot has provided some product approval information on this website. The product approval information provided by this website is in Adobe PDF format. Once you open the PDF file, you may see a chart that lists a Florida number and/or Miami-Dade NOA number for each product. These numbers correspond with the product numbers in each agency’s database at www.floridabuilding.org or www.miamidade.gov/buildingcode.

Product approval information changes frequently and the information available is not limited to what we list on our website. If you need more approval information about any of the products we carry, call or e-mail The Molding Depot’s Tampa, Florida office for assistance.
